Our Story

Why Traditions Dance?

Traditions Dance was founded to give students a strong foundation in dance technique and the unique Highstepper style — preparing them for drill team tryouts and cultivating growth as dancers and team members throughout the school year.


Mrs. Jennifer (Phillips) Wiatt
Founder & Director
Former Highstepper officer with decades of experience as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. Jennifer leads the program with a passion for building technique from the ground up.
Ms. Mieka Phillips
Instructor / Choreographer
Choreographer for high school and junior high drill teams and local theater productions. Former Assistant Highstepper Director and Highstepper officer, Mieka brings energy and expertise to every class.

Stretch & Technique
4th Grade & Up
Flexibility, core, strength, and dance skills.
7:00 – 8:00 PM
Ballet
4th Grade & Up
Ballet foundations, skills & techniques set to classical and contemporary music.
Tuesday
6:00 – 7:00 PM
Highland Girl Prep
4th – 7th Grade
Preparing up-and-coming Highland Girl candidates for tryouts.
7:00 – 8:00 PM
Dance Combination
5th Grade & Up
Jazz, modern, contemporary, ballet — including leaps and turns.
Wednesday

Stretch & Technique
4th Grade & Up
Flexibility, core, strength, and dance skills. Early start time.
6:00 – 7:00 PM
Highland Girl Prep
5th – 7th Grade
Preparing up-and-coming Highland Girl candidates for tryouts.

Highland Girls Only
Current '26/'27 HG Members
Advanced skills & tricks for current HGs — preparing for games, competitions, and all tryout dances.

Highstepper Prep
8th Grade & Up
Focuses exclusively on the unique Highstepper style — kicks, tricks, leaps, and dancing for upcoming tryouts.

Monthly Tuition

1 class per week$90 / month
2 classes per week$150 / month
3 classes per week$175 / month
4 classes per week$195 / month
5 classes per week$210 / month

Family Plan

Pay full tuition for one student — each additional sibling is half price.

Registration

$50 per individual · $25 per additional family member

Registration fee is valid through the entire school year (August–May) when you remain a part of the Traditions family.
